LFW Dance was founded in 1982 by Lorrie Fraley Wilson. The Methow Valley Community Center was home for LFW, and still is today!
The Omak location began offering classes in 1986. Lorrie spent the studio's founding years building an awareness and a following for dance and performance, by offering Ballet and Jazz classes, and holding a small spring recital each May.
In 1993 Lorrie decided a nonprofit organization would be a great benefit to the Okanogan County dancers and community. With the help of several key parents and like-minded community members, Children’s Dance Theater was brought to life!
Cindy Picking, Rachel Weber, and Ruth Askee were a few of the founding members along with LFW. CDT just celebrated their 28th show in 2019! In 2002 the Omak location moved to the Masonic Lodge on Ash Street, and in 2014 Lorrie and her husband, Steve, bought the building. They have transformed it into a home for the dancers of Okanogan County.
Thousands of students have passed through the doors of these studios, and have danced across the Omak Middle School’s Performing Arts Center Stage, as well as the Methow Valley Community Center stage! The studio flourishes due to its great teaching staff, and continued support of the parents and community members who value and appreciate Dance!
